Notice of the needed re-orthorectification of 2018 BARR and KONZ spectrometer data

January 22, 2020

We have identified an issue with the 2018 KONZ and BARR airborne (AOP) spectrometer (NIS) data products. The data were originally processed with an incorrect GPS timing offset and, as a result, are not correctly orthorectified. This affects all spectrometer products (radiance, reflectance, spectral indices, and mosaics) for the two sites’ 2018 collections:

  • L1
    • DP1.30006.001: Spectrometer orthorectified surface directional reflectance (flightline)
    • DP1.30008.001: Spectrometer orthorectified at-sensor radiance (flightline)
  • L2
    • DP2.30019.001: Canopy water content (flightline)
    • DP2.30020.001: Canopy xanthophyll cycle (flightline)
    • DP2.30014.001: fPAR spectrometer (flightline)
    • DP2.30012.001: LAI spectrometer (flightline)
    • DP2.30016.001: Total biomass map (spectrometer, flightline )
    • DP2.30026.001: Vegetation indices (spectrometer, flightline)
  • L3
    • DP3.30011.001: Albedo (spectrometer mosaic)
    • DP3.30022.001: Canopy lignin (mosaic)
    • DP3.30018.001: Canopy nitrogen (mosaic)
    • DP3.30019.001: Canopy water content (mosaic);
    • DP3.30020.001: Canopy xanthophyll cycle (mosaic)
    • DP3.30014.001: fPAR (spectrometer, mosaic)
    • DP3.30012.001: LAI (spectrometer, mosaic)
    • DP3.30006.001: Spectrometer orthorectified surface directional reflectance (mosaic)
    • DP3.30016.001: Total biomass map (spectrometer, mosaic)
    • DP3.30026.001: Vegetation indices (spectrometer, mosaic)

The data are being reprocessed. We will update this message by the end of January 2020 with further information or location and availability of the corrected data.  Please use the data portal contact form for further inquiries and include the term “INC0034943“ in the body of your request.
