ESA 2025: Ecology is Everywhere

The Ecological Society of America (ESA) Annual Meeting will be held in Baltimore, Maryland from Aug 10-15, 2025. This year's meeting theme is "Ecology is Everywhere".

Living Data 2025: Unified Information Driving Transformation

Living Data 2025 in Bogotá, Colombia, October 21-24, 2025 is a joint conference that brings together members of biodiversity networks and hundreds of scientists, researchers, practitioners, and experts from around the world. 

Conference attendees share their knowledge and experience to transform the understanding of the state and trends of biodiversity and learn how work together contributes towards conserving the living world. 

Global Ecosystem Research Infrastructure Early Career Researcher Scholar Exchange

NEON, a member of the Global Ecosystem Research Infrastructure (GERI), provides support for GERI research about leveraging data provided by research infrastructures and networks. The GERI early career researcher (ECR) working group (WG) is participating in a Scholar Exchange in Boulder, CO (USA) from July 21-25, 2025. This Scholar Exchange will include professional trainings (such as applying AI techniques to environmental science research), manuscript writing and co-authorship, a data hackathon, field trips, and more. Ecological Forecasting Initiative 2025 Conference

The 3.5-day in-person Ecological Forecasting Initiative 2025 Conference brings together individuals from academia, government agencies, industry and the non-profit sectors to share cutting-edge research and applications in ecological forecasting broadly. The conference will include a keynote address by NEON Director & Chief Scientist, Dr. Paula Mabee and a field trip into the mountains with the opportunity to visit the Mountain Lake Biological Station (MLBS) NEON site.

NEON Convergence Summit 2025: Advancing Continental-Scale Biology

NEON’s first Convergence Summit will be held October 15-17 in Boulder, Colorado. This in-person, facilitated event will bring together NEON staff, NEON Ambassadors, and interdisciplinary teams of researchers who are motivated to explore innovative ways to use NEON data, samples, and infrastructure to advance continental-scale biology.

ASLO 2025 Aquatic Sciences Meeting

NEON staff will attend ASLO 2025 Aquatic Sciences Meeting, held March 26-31 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The meeting theme will be "Taking the Aquatic Pulse," with a focus on how decisions made today will manifest in the environment tomorrow, and how successful management of these challenges depends upon an understanding of history, current state, and future goals.

Association of Southeastern Biologists Annual Meeting 2025

NEON staff will be at the 86th Annual Meeting of the ​Association of Southeastern Biologists. This conference is a large gathering of universities in the Southeast US, and it includes presentations and workshops on a range of biological topics.

Kansas Natural Resources Conference (KNRC) 2025

The theme for this event is, “Building Tomorrow’s Wildlife Habitats: Strategies for Success.”

The KNRC brings together researchers, government agencies, non-profits, and students from all over the state to address natural resource issues, see the latest research in a variety of disciplines, and discuss paths forward to protect the state's natural resources. 

NEON staff from Domain 06 - Kansas will be present to talk about NEON data and NEON Research Support Services.

Environmental Data Science Summit, NCEAS

Through the annual Environmental Data Science (EDS) summit, NCEAS brings 100 environmental data science community members to Santa Barbara, CA for a two and a half day "un-conference" event. Funding (including travel, fees, and lodging) is covered for up to 60 participants. Attendance is open to EDS practitioners from any sector, discipline, background, or career stage.
