Previously, we identified an issue with the 2019 Toolik airborne (AOP) spectrometer (NIS) data products. The data have been reprocessed, and, as of 30 April 2020, the corrected data are available via the data portal.

We have discovered that the atmospheric pressure correction for the soil CO2 concentration data product (DP1.00095.001) is not being performed, causing incorrect values to be reported. Work has begun to correct this issue with the expectation of having it resolved by approximately July 2020.

Data have been re-streamed for both SYCA and WLOU with the correct timestamp. The re-processing is in a testing phase with a plan to have the data re-processed for re-publication by the end of April.

We have identified that the timestamp of the on-site server was set at SYCA and WLOU for certain date ranges. All impacted data have been removed from the NEON data portal and will be re-streamed, re-processed, and re-published.

We have identified issues with the camera image and mosaic data for 2018_YELL_1 and 2019_JERC_5. Updated imagery will be re-posted as soon as correction is completed.

Data quality analysis for 90% of the existing fungal ITS sequencing data sets is complete. Data sets will be re-posted incrementally as quality flagging is completed.

We have identified an issue with a portion of the 2019 airborne (AOP) spectrometer (NIS) Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 data products for the Toolik site, TOOL. The data are being re-orthorectified.

Previously, we identified an issue with the 2018 KONZ and BARR airborne (AOP) spectrometer (NIS) data products. As of 31 January 2020 the corrected data are available via the data portal.

The terrestrial instrument system (TIS) team identified that the 2D anemometers on the NEON towers were producing 2D wind data that did not correlate with 2D wind data collected at NEON meteorological stations nearby. The TIS team is in the process of identifying site- and measurement-level--specific dates of incorrect anemometer orientation so that these data can be corrected.

This is an update to Notice of the re-scaling of 2019 spectrometer Albedo (L2 and L3). As of January, 31 2020 the data have been re-scaled and re-published to the data portal.

neonUtilities 1.3.3 is now available on CRAN! Changes in this version are fairly minor, primarily meant to fix bugs in version 1.3.2.

Data processing software improvements will now use SUNA absorbance data to estimate corrected fDOM rather than only correcting fDOM using temperature.

Recent updates in the algorithms that generate some of our aquatic instrument data will improve published data products by fixing erroneous data.

neonUtilities 1.3.2 is now available on CRAN! There are several updates in this version, primarily around improving performance and retaining more complete metadata from the original download.

Microbial community composition data products for all data analyzed after Jan 1, 2016 had an issue with the sequence data processing pipeline. This issue is causing the resulting community composition data to consist of very few counts and lower than expected diversity. We are in the process of evaluating the extent of the issue.

To date, all NEON groundwater and surface water elevation data has had high uncertainty due to unstable survey reference points and delays in reporting field-based sensor position adjustments. In-the-field infrastructure upgrades will improve NEON water elevation data products at many aquatic sites.

Recent updates in the algorithms that generate some of our aquatic instrument data will improve published data products by fixing erroneous data.

We have identified issues with infrared gas analyzer pressure data stream mapping processed through October 28, 2019 (irrespective of data collect date) and are working to resolve them.

We recently discovered that unreasonably high soil moistures are sometimes being reported in the soil water content and salinity data product (DP1.00094.001) at many terrestrial sites.

We have recently removed sunlit plant foliage major, minor, and trace element data (DP1.10026.001, cfc_elements table) collected in 2017 and 2018 from the portal.

NEON staff have been collecting data on stochastic disturbances and site management activities observed at all aquatic and terrestrial NEON sites and have just released this information as a new data product, Site Management and Event Reporting.

The Soil Sensor Technical Working Group, which is an advisory group of external scientific community members, has recommended the continued publication of throughfall precipitation data despite noted quality concerns.

An issue has been identified with the soil heat flux data product in which most automated field-calibrations were not being processed. We are working to resolve this issue.

A subset of airborne data products are now available for download via the data portal or the NEON API.
