As part of their ongoing quality assurance program, ACZ Laboratories, which analyzes NEON sediment samples, identified an issue with their data processing affecting all alkalinity analyses. Specifically, the final dilution factor applied during reporting did not correctly account for both preparation and analytical dilutions. This is solely attributed to a calculation error and does not reflect any analytical deficiencies. This issue affects all alkalinity lab data analyzed by ACZ and published in DP1.20194.001, the earliest record of which dates to 2015-07-20. Because this is a calculation error and not an analytical deficiency, all affected records will be corrected and republished. An update will be provided when this effort is complete.
