Both the R and Python versions of the neonUtilities package were updated in parallel with NEON’s move to authentication for data downloads. Both initial versions were discovered to have bugs in the workflow for remote sensing data downloads, and both have now been fixed.
The `byTileAOP()` function in the R neonUtilities package was failing to download data in most situations. This has been resolved in package version 4.0.1, which will be rolled out to CRAN mirrors over the next few days.
Both the `by_tile_aop()` and `by_file_aop()` functions in the Python neonutilities package were failing to download data in most situations. This has been resolved in package version 2.0.1, available on PyPi now.
These package updates only affect the remote sensing functions, but we recommend all users update to R neonUtilities v4.0.1 and Python neonutilities v2.0.1. If you encounter errors or problems, let us know by submitting a ticket through the NEON Contact Us page.
