The NEON Innovation Advisory Committee (IAC) is a council of external subject matter experts from industry, academia, and agencies that advise Battelle NEON on opportunities posed by emerging and advanced technologies that have the potential to improve the Observatory’s operational efficiencies and enhance the science that NEON enables. The committee was developed and formed in 2025, with an initial focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) opportunities for NEON. The IAC will recommend prioritization of AI/ML NEON activities to meet the needs of NEON data users and enhance efficiency of NEON operations to provide state-of-the-art science capability.
The IAC committee members are selected based on their knowledge of NEON data and operations and their use of AI/ML in subject areas in environmental science.
