AOP Data Availability Notification – Release 2023

December 13, 2022

As part of the 2023 annual NEON Release, AOP will be updating data products with known data quality issues and fixing filenames that do not match the standard naming convention. Please see data product issue logs on the data portal for additional details. The majority of fixes pertain to filename corrections to ensure data products conform to our file naming conventions as well as fixes to some LAI products that contained NO DATA values with small errors caused by computing precision.

Data products with these planned updates are summarized in the tables below, where Table 1 shows planned fixes to the data products due to quality issues, and Table 2 shows planned fixes to the data filenames and NO DATA values. The data products with updated filenames (Table 2, minus the LAI products) will not be available from the Data Portal until the 2023 Release is completed. There will be a short period (estimated 3-5 days) where each of the data products with quality updates will be unavailable from the data portal, between December 2022 and January 2023. Once the products have been updated, but before the 2023 Release is completed, the data will again be available, but will appear under the previous RELEASE-2022 tag.

The 2023 Release is estimated to be complete by the end of January 2023, and at that time all AOP data from the 2022 Release will be “tombstoned” and superseded by RELEASE-2023.

Please use the Contact Us form for further inquiries regarding this process, and include the term ‘AOP 2022 Release Updates’ in the body of your request.
