The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) is accepting proposals for Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology (PRFB) to support proposals that have a research and training focus at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biological sciences to strengthen and safeguard biotechnology innovations. The fellows will become field leaders who use AI capabilities to extrapolate from biological data to technological advances.
While applicants need to propose their postdoc at an academic institution, NEON scientists are able to support proposals as technical experts and co-mentors. Contact Us if you are interested in working with NEON on your proposal.
The PI of the NEON Biorepository also offers an opportunity to work on a proposal with Arizona State University as the supporting institution. Read more information about working on a proposal with the NEON Biorepository in Dr. Hojun Song's letter.
Proposers may also explore NEON Research Support Services (NRSS) to see if NEON may meet their research needs through the use of NEON infrastructure.
Proposals are due by Sept. 29, 2026.
Learn more about the program and proposal submissions on the NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Biology (PRFB) web page.
