The International Science Council's Committee on Data (CODATA) and World Data System (WDS), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA) are supporting the International Data Week 2025: "Trusted Research Data Driving Innovation and a Better World"
This session brings together leaders from major environmental observatories across continents—including NEON (USA), TERN (Australia), SAEON (South Africa), ICOS (Europe), and eLTER (Europe)—to explore collaborative efforts under the Global Ecosystem Research Infrastructure (GERI) initiative.
Session Highlights:
Christine Laney, Data Scientist, will present on NEON’s contributions to harmonizing ecological data and building interoperable systems for global-scale research.
Discussions will focus on:
FAIR data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable)
Infrastructure for long-term ecological monitoring
Integrating remote sensing and field data
Applications in ecological drought and biodiversity research
This session exemplifies NEON’s commitment to open science and international collaboration, helping to shape the future of ecosystem data integration and accessibility.
