Catie holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Environmental Studies from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her early career included long-term population monitoring of elephant seals at San Simeon rookeries and diverse roles with the U.S. Forest Service, where she contributed to civil and environmental engineering, hydrology, and aquatic projects, as well as completing remote restoration efforts with a conservation team. Catie joined NEON as an Aquatics Field Technician, advancing to Field Ecologist before assuming her current role as Field Operations Manager for Domain 17, the Pacific Southwest, in 2024.
