Walter Leo is a research scientist on the NEON Terrestrial Observations Systems team which collects data to enable data users to detect long-term ecological changes on flora, fauna, and soils across the continent. While working for the NEON Terrestrial team over the past year, Walter has been responsible for developing applications that allow for NEON’s field scientists to collect field data, while ensuring NEON's scientific protocols are followed, as well as developing a data quality pipeline to ensure completeness of the data we are providing for data users. Walter earned his Masters of Research in Ecology & Environmental Biology from the University of Glasgow, in Glasgow, Scotland and a B.S in Biology from Eastern Connecticut State University.
