I develop and maintain a variety of scientific software solutions for the organismal team. These include mobile data collection apps, data QA/QC tools, and programmatic workflows for moving data through some components of our processing pipeline. I also assist with biostatistical analyses as needed, and am actively involved in teaching NEON workshops. Please reach out to me with any questions about how OS data are collected or processed “behind the scenes”.
I began focusing on computational solutions for working with and exploring patterns in data during my PhD, which revolved around building and testing ecological models related to species occurrence/abundance patterns across diverse ecosystems. Since I started at NEON in 2014, I’ve continually worked to develop new software solutions in multiple languages, to enable my colleagues to more quickly and easily gather, process, and analyze data.
