Kristin grew up in Massachusetts, and received a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. After serving 2 years in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, she returned to New England and received an M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch University New England. Kristin focused her studies on the principles of conservation medicine, and spent several years working with large non-profit and governmental organizations to improve the health of wildlife populations, including the USGS National Wildlife Health Center, the Shedd Aquarium, the New England Aquarium, and the US Fish & Wildlife Service. Kristin has conducted wildlife research in South Africa, the Caribbean Sea, and South America. However, the forests and wetlands of New England will always be her native habitat and this is where she has made her home with her husband and son.
