Technician, Airborne Sensor Operations (Remote Sensing)
Mitch earned a B.S. in Geography & Geosciences from Salisbury University (’13) and is the final stages of completing his M.S. in Geography from East Carolina University (’16). His Master’s thesis examines pro-glacial sediment intensities to the Nisqually River on Mount Rainier (WA) following recent deglaciations. Mitch’s specialties include high-resolution topographic analysis and geomorphic change detection, applications of terrestrial LiDAR systems, and Geographic Information Science (GIS). Prior to joining NEON, Mitch was a participant in the Geological Society of America’s Geoscientist-in-the-Park program at Mount Rainier National Park. Mitch also holds both an undergraduate and graduate GIS Certificate.
