In July of 2008, Ted Hehn began his career with the National Science Foundation’s National Ecological Observatory Network project as a Staff Scientist in the Fundamental Instrument Unit Division. In 2010, Ted was transferred into the Calibration, Validation and Audit Laboratory (CVAL) as an Instrumentation Scientist. In 2012, in addition to his responsibilities in CVAL, Ted was also assigned to the Engineering Department’s Advanced Product Design, Integration and Development Team. Ted has over 25 years of environmental instrumentation design experience.
From 2000 to 2008, Ted was an Instrumentation Developmental Technician for the University of California at Berkeley's Biometeorology Laboratory and accountable for instrumentation design, integration and development, laboratory instruction and management, and research site and database management. From 1991 to 1998 Ted was an Electronics Technician with the USDA Rocky Mountain Research Station in the Alpine and Subalpine Atmospheric and Climatic Change Project.
Ted possesses a B.S in Applied Physics and an M.S. in Ecology.
