Laura Newton is responsible for overseeing the design, manufacturing, and deployment of the sensor Infrastructure as well as calibration and validation of sensors and auditing of external analytical laboratories. She initially led the design and development of NEON's calibration, validation, and audit laboratory. Prior to joining NEON, Laura worked as a LO/RF/sub-system design engineer on the Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) telescope for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO). Laura's 18-year career has taken her from Los Alamos National Laboratory to various industry positions before joining NRAO and NEON on NSF projects. Laura has expertise in leadership, quality, RF design, analog design, digital design, Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) test and design, hardware design test, power design, applying engineering best practices on large projects, and technical design reviews. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State University.
