About Cory

Cory has a diverse background in business and environmental science. He received a M.S. in Watershed Science and Policy (2010) from California State University Monterey Bay, and a B.A. in Economics (1993) from University of Maine. His primary interest include assessing stream health using indicator species and understanding physical parameters of stream evolution including stream restoration. His thesis focused on comparing diatom assemblages of reference streams to impacted streams using RIVPACS, a statistical analysis technique usually reserved for macroinvertebrate communities.

Prior to work on NEON, Cory led a stream management program in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Helping to restore streams, improve water quality, reduce erosion and assist municipalities with science-informed infrastructure projects. Previously, Cory held leadership positions in industry with a major catalog shipping company and in the semiconductor industry.
