Dave Tazik is an ecologist and environmental planner with more than 25 years of experience addressing ecological and natural resources management challenges in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems on behalf of the US Army and Army Corps of Engineers. As project scientist and director of biology at NEON, Dave leads NEON's project science leadership team and its terrestrial ecology group. Dave's ecological research prior to joining NEON included development of natural resources inventory and monitoring programs and formulation of management strategies for endangered species on military lands. He has broad experience in research management, having guided diverse environmental research efforts for both the Corps and the Army. For several years prior to joining NEON, Dave was directly involved in research to support the Corps' ecosystem restoration and management programs. Dave earned his Ph.D. in Regional Science (Environmental Planning) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
