Archival Samples

NEON collects a wide variety of specimens and samples that complement automated measurements and field observations collected at field sites. These samples may be requested by the community to support further analysis and research.

Materials are typically shipped to non-NEON facilities (such as museums) that archive, curate and administer loans of NEON samples and specimens. NEON is currently in the process of identifying these facilities and developing an online system for looking up where specific samples are being housed. In the meantime, a small subset of samples are currently available by request.
